The Bangkok Post reports that the Tourism Authority of Thailand has confirmed that no quarantine of any kind is required for the so-called Phuket Sandbox project which will open the island for foreign tourism in July. The plan, which will allow fully vaccinated tourists to explore Thailand’s largest island without restrictions, is the country’s first entry for foreign tourism since the pandemic. The details of re-opening including requirements for negative COVID-19 tests is still being finalized in partnership with Thailand’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, but the TAT has confirmed that tourists will be allowed to leave Phuket for the rest of Thailand after 2 weeks.
