Travel Daily Media reports that Hong Kong governor Carrie Lam has announced that it would shorten the quarantine period for fully vaccinated travelers to just seven days from 14, provided they “show sufficient antibodies against the novel coronavirus.” It was not clear how the antibodies would be verified. The new shorter period of quarantine would only apply to those who had a second vaccination does at least 14 days before arrival. No comment was made about single- dose vaccines. The new rules take effect on July 1, but will not apply to those coming from “high risk” places, which were not named. Only about 17% of Hong Kong’s population has been fully vaccinated.
