Web In Travel reports on a study by Chun-Chu Chen, an assistant professor in the School of Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University, on why some people travel more frequently than others and whether or not travel affects happiness and wellness. The results show that on average those who regularly travel over 120km from their homes were about 7% happier than others. Additionally, it showed that people who paid attention to tourism information and discussed travel plans were far more likely to actually travel. Chen suggested travel companies launch social media campaigns to encourage people to discuss their opinions about travel.
