Travel Daily News reports that between February and March this year tourists in Europe went from below 5 million to almost 6 million – a growth rate of almost 20%. This number climbed an additional 25.9% in April, and by 60.9%, in May. With over 12.1 million international tourists visiting the EU that month, the region is leading the recovery in non-domestic travel with a whopping 74.7% jump between December 2020 and May 2021. Meanwhile the USA’s tourism industry has only seen a 14% jump since December, Asia-Pacific has grown 8.5%, and the Middle East has only recovered by 2%.
