Travel Daily News reports that European Union’s Digital Covid certificate, which has been implemented in the 27 EU member states and includes reciprocal agreements with Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine, has earned the backing of the International Air Transport Association. The IATA’s Deputy Director General complimented the speed of its design and implementation, and noted that “In the absence of a single global standard for digital vaccine certificates, it should serve as a blueprint for other nations looking to implement digital vaccination certificates to help facilitate travel.” Currently up to 60 other countries are looking to use the DCC;s specifications in their own certifications, specifications which include format, QR code flexibility, and authentication technology.
