This article guides you through the different types of Agoda Boost Campaign (ABC) setups and how to setup or join an ABC.

Types of Agoda Boost Campaigns setups

There are 3 types of Agoda Boost Campaign (ABC) setups on YCS, namely:

1. ABC Custom Campaigns: You will have the flexibility to create and determine the campaign conditions, such as the targeted period, discount value and any targeting restrictions as per your requirement. Funding of discount will be provided by your property’s budget.

2. ABC Featured Campaigns: Looking for quick activation? You may benefit from signing up for a pre-set campaign with the opportunity to receive co-funding by Agoda! You can finetune the campaign with optional restrictions (availability of restrictions varies by campaign) and funding of the discount may be co-funded by Agoda and your property’s budget (varies by campaign).

3. ABC Offline Campaigns: Do you have specific requirements? Are you looking for a solution tailored to your property’s needs? Agoda can create special campaigns on your behalf. Please reach out to your account manager for more information about availability and cost. The table below illustrates the setup and restriction options for each type of ABC: spending-limits

The table below explains each restriction.

Restriction Details
Minimum booking value Set the minimum booking value based on the currency set up on YCS for the coupon to apply.

  • Example: “US Dollar 50” indicates that any bookings with a value of less than $50, will not be eligible to apply the coupon.
Maximum discount amount Set the maximum discount of the coupon based on the currency set up on YCS for the coupon to apply.

  • Example: “US Dollar 50” indicates that the discount will not go beyond $50 in value.
Spending Limit $ Manage your campaign budget by setting a spending limit.

  • The campaign will stop once it reaches/exceeds the spending limit.
  • Overspending may occur if the spending limit has not been reached and the discount value is greater than the leftover budget. In this situation, the discount will still be applied to the booking and the hotel will be invoiced for the discount.
  • The discount will be shown as long as the spending limit has not been reached.
  • Cancelled bookings will release the budget back to the campaign and if the campaign has been paused due to the spending limit, the released budget may reactivate the campaign again.

If the booking end date of the campaign has passed, the campaign will be archived, even if there is still budget available.

Maximum number of coupons to be issued Manage your campaign budget by setting a maximum number of coupons that will be issued during the time that the campaign is active.

  • Once all of the coupons are issued, the campaign will be placed on Pause status.
  • If there are any cancelled bookings with coupons, the coupon will be added back to the campaign and be made available to customers until the maximum has been reached.
  • If the booking end date of the campaign has passed, the campaign will get archived, even if there are still coupons available.
Domestic vs International Select where to allow the coupon to apply (based on customer IP address):

  • Both (Domestic + International)
  • Domestic only
  • International only
Post coupon rate display options Select where you prefer to display the discounted price after the coupon is applied.

  • You may select either
    • Shown on Agoda pages and Meta Search Engine,
    • Shown on Agoda pages only, or
    • Shown at booking check-out page only (this is only available on the mobile app).
  • Example: “Shown at booking check-out page only” will only show the discount on the Mobile App and not on both Desktop Web and Mobile Web.
Origin Improve your targeting strategy by enabling the customer’s country of origin (based on their IP address) as an eligibility requirement.

  • You may input one or more countries by searching for the desired country.
  • Example: Search input “Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan” indicates that customers who book from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan will be eligible for the discount.
Length of stay Optimize your campaign by setting the length of stay.

  • Input a value and then select either:
    • strictly less than,
    • strictly more than, or
    • strictly equal to.
  • Example: “strictly more than 3 days” indicates that the customer must book a stay of more than 3 days to be eligible for the discount.
Check-in by day of week Create your own strategy by providing discounts according to the day of the week that the customer will check-in.

  • You may select “All” days or individual days (MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, and SUN).
  • Example: “MON” indicates that the customer must check in on Monday to be eligible for the discount.

How to setup a custom campaign?

You can create a custom campaign by following the steps below:

1. YCS >> Growth programs

2. Select Agoda Boost Campaigns

3. Select Create campaign

4. Fill in the ABC custom campaign details.

5. Click Create campaign.

6. You should be able to view your campaign setup details under the Your campaigns section, in either the Active, Paused or Archived tabs.

7. Click View and you will be able to see the campaign setup details. Once the campaign has been created, it can no longer be modified/edited.

How to join a featured campaign?

You can join a featured campaign by following the steps below:

1. YCS >> Growth programs

2. Select Agoda Boost Campaigns

3. Under the Featured campaigns section, select your desired featured campaign by clicking on See details of the desired campaign.

4. You will be shown the preset campaign details e.g. date range, discount values, co-funding % (if any), minimum booking value and payment method.

5. If the Add restrictions button is available, there could be restrictions displayed or no restrictions being displayed.

6. Click Create campaign.

How to create an offline campaign?

To create a special campaign setup, please contact your dedicated account manager.
