Thai PBS reports that Thailand’s CCSA, which controls COVID-19 related measures, announced that there will likely be no restrictions imposed on the Thai New Year period known as Songkran. Taking place in mid-April, Songkran is the largest domestic travel period of the year and often features festivals and outdoor events. According to the report, “social gatherings, parties and other high-risk activities will still be prohibited, but inter-provincial travel will not.”
