TTG Asia reports that the island nation of Sri Lanka will welcome inbound tourist starting January 21, following the success of their so-called “bio bubble” travel pilot program. Visitors to Sri Lanka need to apply for a visa with proof of a hotel booking, negative PCR test that’s not more than 4 days old, and insurance with US$50,000 in coverage. Additional PCR tests for COVID-19 must be taken after 1 and 2 weeks respectively, and must be pre-paid. During the first 14 days of travel, tourist are restricted to one of 40 certified hotels and can only visit 14 approved attractions. After 14 days the restrictions are lifted.
