Managing surcharges effectively is crucial for accurately reflecting room rates and additional fees. This article guides you through adding and removing surcharges in YCS, ensuring your pricing strategy aligns with your property’s needs.
What are surcharges?
Surcharges are additional charges to the room rate, therefore should not be taxes.
Types of surcharges
YCS supports Mandatory (M/Agoda Collect) and Excluded (E/Property Collect) surcharge types, the list is predefined and must be selected from the drop-down. It is up to the property owner which one you choose.
- Mandatory (Agoda Collect): Compulsory to booking, must pay addition to the room rate. This type will be included in the final price upon making the booking.
- Excluded (Property Collect): Excluded from the room rate. Customer will get a note on the booking form that the additional fee needs to be paid to the hotel upon check-in.
How do I add a surcharge?
- Log into YCS
- Go to Rates and availability >> Surcharges >> Click Add a surcharge
- Fill in the required information:
- Select the type of surcharge from the drop-down menu
- Enter the surcharge amount
- Select the stay dates from which the surcharge to apply
- Tick the boxes to the left of the days of the week for which the surcharge should apply
- Select the room type for which the surcharge should apply
- Select the rate plan for which the surcharge should apply
- Select the rate channel for which the surcharge should apply
- Click Save
How do I edit a surcharge?
- Log into YCS
- Go to Rates and availability >> Surcharges >> Click the pen icon next to the surcharge for which you’d like to edit
- Input the new surcharge amount
- Click Save
How do I delete a surcharge?
- Log into YCS
- Go to Rates and availability >> Surcharges >> Click the bin icon next to the surcharge for which you’d like to edit
- Click Confirm on the popup
Important information
- Excluded surcharges (property collect) must be collected by the property. Agoda will not take any responsibility in case of missed collection.
- The surcharge is always based on the same currency as your property setting
- Always check if your surcharge is an amount value or a percentage %
