Actions to take when property ownership has changed

If your property is under new ownership, there are a few things that should be done to ensure a smooth transition. 

  • Decide who owns any pending bookings. All confirmed bookings must be honored by either the new or old management. 
  • Clear all pending payouts. Depending on the transfer agreement, parties responsible for claiming booking payouts will need to do so before the transfer takes place. Agoda will not be responsible for any payment disputes between the new and old management. 
  • Inform new management of existing Agoda deals that will be carried over. The new management must be informed of any existing programs or deals the old management has entered into. 
  • Inform new management of the sign contract and Agoda’s Terms and Conditions. These are applicable to all properties partnering with Agoda, and a new agreement is not required to be signed by the new management. 
  • Update contact details and access to YCS, including access to Finance pages. Please reach out to our support team via YCS.

  • Inform Agoda about the change of ownership 

Informing Agoda about the change of ownership

If you are part of the new management: 

  • Please send us a copy of the ownership transfer agreement to allow us to update the information for you. 
  • Written confirmation from the previous management is required to confirm that all pending bookings and payment issues have been cleared. 
  • Review the property’s payout method and inform us if any changes are required. 
  • Provide the contact number and email address of the person responsible for: 
    • Booking notifications 
    • Marketing 
    • Finance access 
    • YCS settings 

If you are part of the original property management: 

  • Please inform the new management to contact us for further YCS information updates. 
  • You will be responsible to clear any outstanding payouts before transferring the property unless otherwise stated in the agreement with the new management/owner. 
  • You will be responsible to ensure that all confirmed Agoda bookings are honored by the new management. 

To inform Agoda about the change of ownership, please follow these steps: 

  1. Sign in to YCS, then click Need Help. 
  2. Select Property Status/Contract 
  3. Select Change of ownership. 
  4. Select Contact Agoda. 
  5. Review what information and documents are required, then click Submit request. 
  6. Complete the form, then click Submit.
