In partnership with WWF-Singapore and the UnTours Foundation, Agoda introduces a groundbreaking initiative to drive sustainability in the tourism sector.
Agoda, a leading global digital travel platform, has joined forces with WWF-Singapore and the UnTours Foundation to launch the Sustainable Tourism Impact Fund. This innovative initiative is designed to empower micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism sector across Southeast Asia by providing affordable and flexible investment capital. The fund aims to support businesses committed to advancing sustainable practices, reducing environmental impact, and fostering community empowerment.
The Sustainable Tourism Impact Fund reflects a shared vision of reshaping the travel industry to not only minimize harm but actively contribute to the planet’s health and the well-being of its people. By equipping local tourism businesses with the tools and resources they need, the fund seeks to promote regenerative tourism practices, conserve critical ecosystems, and create sustainable economic opportunities for host communities.
“At Agoda, we believe that travel can be a force for good. Through the Sustainable Tourism Impact Fund, we’re empowering local businesses to lead the way in sustainable tourism, ensuring that travel supports thriving communities and preserves the environment for years to come,” said Boratay Uysal, Senior Sustainability Manager.
