How do I set up my host profile?

This article shows you how to create and update your host profile, including your photo, name, language, location, and description. Building a complete and friendly profile helps guests trust you and increases your chances of getting bookings.

As the host of a single-unit home, you can create a host profile to help confirm your identity and also create an appealing introduction to guests. Learn more about property types here. Your host photo, display name, location, and description will be displayed on the property’s page.

Setting up your host profile

Sign in to YCS.
Click on the account menu in the top right of the page and select Profile.
Under Host Type, select a host type from the options below:
- Private host (an individual or group renting out a property or properties for purposes which are outside their primary trade, business, or profession)
- Professional host (an individual or a group, renting out a property or properties for purposes relating to their trade, business, or profession, or as a significant source of income)
Under Host profile, enter your name and upload a profile picture.
Under Host details, provide all the details in each section. Please note that your birth date and address will not be shared with guests.
Under Describe yourself, create a short bio to introduce yourself to guests.
Provide your AirBnB profile link, if any.
Click Save.

Add and verify your phone number

Adding a phone number for your single-unit home is an optional but recommended step to completing your host profile, ensuring we can get in touch with you quickly.

Sign in to YCS.
Open the account menu in the top right of the page and select Profile or click Edit your profile.
Under Contact information, select the country and enter your phone number.
Click Save to verify your phone number.
Enter the one-time password sent to your phone and click Continue.

Tips for your host profile

Host photo

Guests looking to stay at a property feel more comfortable communicating with a host they can see. Here are some tips for choosing the ideal host profile photo:

Choose a friendly, smiling photo of yourself
Make sure your eyes are visible and your hair and clothes are nice
Go for a photo that is bright and clear rather than shadowy
Photos of landscapes, animals, cartoons, or anything but yourself are not recommended.

Host name

Your first and last name provided in the host profile is used for Agoda’s internal purposes only and will not be visible to customers. The display name is visible on the property’s page. You can either put your nickname or your initials here. We recommend you put your first name or nickname and your last name initial as your display name.

Preferred language

Flaunt your language skills to get more bookings. This may be a selling point for overseas guests who are looking for hosts that can speak their native language.

Host location

Tell your guests which country, state, and city you live in so that they are aware which time zone you are in. Don’t worry, your exact location will be used internally and will not be publicly displayed on your listing.

Host description

The host description is the opportunity to make a good impression with your potential guests by letting them know you more on a personal level. Greet them, tell them who you are, where you are from, or what are your interests. Guests are more likely to book from a host that they can identify or connect with.
