What is the YCS Property settings page?

Property settings is a page in YCS (Property >> Property settings) where you can input valuable information and logistical details about your property. This information will be provided to guests at various points in the booking process. It is important to accurately configure these settings to reduce misunderstandings with guests. Accurate property settings can also help to optimize revenue management by enabling certain automations, selecting a payment method, or connecting with channel managers.

The various settings included on the Property settings page are detailed below.

Property information

General information
Property level information:
Property name Name of the property that is shown on the Agoda property page
Property former name Name the property used to be known as
Hotel chain Chain the property belongs to
Hotel brand Brand affiliation of the property
Hotel owner Owner of the property
Star rating Star rating of the property, reflecting the quality and service level
Payment method This is how the property will receive payouts for bookings
Communication language preference Language used when sending emails and booking confirmations
Optional settings
Accept amendment fee waiver requests from our agents Allow Agoda to contact you on behalf of our customer to request amending stay days at no charge
Auto date amendment fee waiver setting Allow guests to amend stay dates at no charge based on your selection
Configure channel manager or direct connect
None Manage your rates and availability through YCS
Channel manager mode Manage your rates and availability through a channel manager
Direct connect mode Manage your rates and availability through your property management system
Name of channel manager Select the name of the channel manager you will use to manage rates and availability on YCS
Additional regional settings
Property tax/VAT ID This is your property tax or VAT ID

Reception open until Time reception desk closes
Extras
Daily Internet/Wi-Fi fee Cost for internet/wi-fi, if not included in room rate (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
Breakfast charge (unless included in room price) Cost for breakfast, if not included in room rate (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
The property:
Room voltage Electricity voltage (typically 120 or 240)
Non-smoking rooms/floors Yes/No
Number of bars/lounges Number of bars/lounges available to guests
Number of floors Number of floors in your property building
Number of restaurants Number of restaurants available to guests
Number of rooms Number of guest rooms (total) at your property
Year property opened The year your property opened for business
Most recent renovation The year of your property’s most recent renovation
License Id/Local Tax ID/Entity Name The property’s license ID, local tax ID, or entity name
Parking
Daily parking fee Cost of parking per day (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
Others
Children breakfast cost (if excluded in room rate) Cost of breakfast for children, if not included in room rate (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
Baby Cot rate per night Cost for baby cot per night, if not included in room rate (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
Number of business event venues Number of venues that can host business events at your property (typically conference or meeting rooms)
Maximum occupancy for business events Maximum occupancy of the business event venue (if you have multiple venues, please input the maximum occupancy of the largest venue)
Number of special event venues Number of venues that can host special events at your property

Map
Search property’s location Begin typing your address and select from the suggested options
Property address
Country Country in which your property is located
State State in which your property is located
City City in which your property is located
Area Area in which your property is located
Postal code Postal code of your property
Street address in English Complete street address in English
Street address in another language Add your complete street address in your preferred language(s). This will appear to customers based on their language settings.
Transfer information
Airport transfers available Click the checkbox to input the cost of airport transfer (please note that Agoda will not collect this fee on your behalf)
Travel time to airport (minutes) The amount of time (in minutes) that it typically takes to reach your property from the nearest main airport
Distance to airport The distance from your property to the nearest main airport
Distance from city center The distance from your property to the city center

Property age policy

Minimum guest age allowed at property Set the minimum age for guests across your entire property – different policies for specific rooms can be created in Room setup
Allow infants in the property Set the age for an infant to be between 0 and 5 years old, depending on the minimum age allowed at the property
Allow children in the property Set the ages for a child to be between 1 and 21 years old, depending on the infant age settings and the minimum age allowed at the property
Default number of children allowed in each room This limits how many children can stay for free in a room at your property – you can override this setting for each room type in Room setup
Occupancy control This determines how maximum room occupancy is calculated
