You can create rate plans in YCS to meet the diverse needs of travelers and manage your revenue flexibly. After creating a rate plan, add prices and availability in the Availability Center or Calendar to make your rooms visible and bookable.
Creating a rate plan
Basic rate plans are also referred to room-only rate plans that do not offer any additional benefits, such as breakfast or flexible cancellation policies, to guests. These plans can serve as a reference point for room pricing, allowing you to seamlessly link other rate plans to them.
Before you begin setting up your rate plan, consider whether you would like to include additional details, such as dates, rooms, or customer segments. If you intend to include these in your basic rate plan, be sure to toggle on the Advanced setup option in the top section of the page.
Basic setup: Internal name, Cancellation policy, Use prices from, and Popular benefits
Advanced setup: Rate plan type, Internal name, External Code ID, Cancellation policy, Auto-extend rates, Use price from, Rate type, Book dates, Arrival dates, Day use, Popular benefits, Restrictions, Customer segments, Child rates, and Rooms.

How do I add meals to my rate plans?
Meal-inclusive rate plans, or meal plans, not only offer guests convenience, value, and an elevated experience but also present revenue opportunities and operational benefits for properties. By crafting rate plans inclusive of breakfast, lunch, or dinner, your property can gain a competitive edge and entice guests to extend their stay. This approach appeals to travelers who value the assurance of a reliable meal, encouraging longer and more enjoyable stays.
Meals can be added to a rate plan in the rate plan setup, as outlined above.
- In step 6, where you can select popular benefits to include in your rate plan, tick Breakfast, Lunch included, and/or Dinner included to include that meal for all guests in this rate plan.
- Click Show more to access additional meal options. Tick desired options from the categories of Breakfast, Dinner, and Food & Beverage and then click Confirm.
- Review your rate plan settings and click Save.
Linking rate plans to easily manage rates
Linking rate plans allows you to use a single rate plan to manage the rates of multiple other rate plans on Calendar and Availability Center. When a rate plan is linked to another, any changes you make to the base rate plan will automatically apply to the linked rate plans. This helps you save time, maintain consistency across your offerings, and reduce the risk of errors when updating rates.
- Sign in to YCS. If you manage multiple properties, select it from Listings.
- Go to Rates and availability >> Rate plans.
- Click Create or select the rate plan you want to link to another.
- Under Use prices from, select the rate plan you want to use as the base.
- Review your rate plan, then click Save.
Which cancellation policy applies to a booking?
When more than one cancellation policy can apply to a booking, we use a defined set of rules to determine which one takes effect.
- If your property offers EasyCancel, this policy will always apply.
- If EasyCancel is not offered, the strictest cancellation policy from any applicable Seasonal and Essential promotions will apply.
- If EasyCancel is not offered and the booking does not include a Seasonal or Essential promotion, the strictest cancellation policy among the rate plan, any applicable Targeted promotions, and any policies set on the Cancellation policies page will apply.
Additionally, if a rate plan is sent from your channel manager without a cancellation policy, the strictest policy set on the Cancellation policies page will apply by default. When no cancellation policy is set for a rate plan, the cancellation policy will be set to non-refundable by default.
