How do I change my property’s name?

Your property name is set up based on the information you provided on the registration form. There may be some situations that require you to change the property name. In this article, we will show you how you can request changes and outline the tips for naming your property.

Can I update my property’s name in YCS?

No, property names cannot be changed or edited in YCS. If you need to change your property’s name, please contact us directly. Note that your requested change will be evaluated by the Agoda Content Team before it is finalized. If the name change is approved, we will update your property’s name accordingly.

Property names should align with the name used on the business license and certificate.

Tips on naming your property

Please avoid using descriptive wording in your property’s name. Exceptions are made for names that include the accommodation type; however, this should be aligned with the name used on the business license and certificate. Some examples are provided below:

Tips
- Keep the property name short, concise, and unique: Shorter property names are more memorable and easier for customers to remember.
  Include the accommodation type: Including the specific accommodation type will provide more clarity for customers and help to avoid any misunderstandings.
  - e.g. Agoda Resort, Agoda Hotel, Agoda Guesthouse etc
- Use title casing: We recommend that you capitalize the first letter of each word in your property’s name.
  - e.g. Agoda Beach Resort not Agoda beach resort or Agoda beach Resort
Things to avoid
- Abbreviations: Customers may avoid booking your property if they are confused about the meaning of an abbreviation in your property name.
- Emojis, symbols or ALL CAPS: Ensure your property appears professional, trustworthy, and credible, starting with the first impression.
- Translations in other languages: Adding your own translation to your property name will cause duplication when customers visit Agoda in that specific language. If you have a specific translation that you prefer, please share it with us so that we can set it to be visible on language-specific versions of the Agoda website and app.
- Including a price or promotion: Prices and promotions are subject to change and the process of changing your property name does not facilitate continual updates.
Some exceptions
- Hotel Conditions: Special qualities may be allowed, such as hygiene certifications, quarantine or vaccination status.
  - e.g., ‘Harbour Hotel – SG Clean Certified’, ‘Hotel 73 – Quarantine Hotel’ or ‘OYO 830 My Balai – Vaccinated Staff’.

1. My property name is wrong when viewed in another language (not English). How do I change this?

If you have a specific translation that you prefer, please share it with us so that we can set it to be visible on language-specific versions of the Agoda website and app. Please note that this change is subject to approval.

2. There is another property with a similar name to mine. Can you remove the other property from Agoda?

Property names should align with the name used on the business license and certificate. As such, property names are not likely to be duplicated on our website or app. However, if you do encounter a duplicate property name, please report it to us.
