Travel Daily Media: Singapore To Eventually End Quarantines And Live With COVID
Travel Daily Media’s editor Kristin Mariano reports that the city-state is on a roadmap to a so-called new normal that treats COVID like any other flu. The basis of this approach is that COVID will continue to mutate into new strains, and that even vaccinated persons can still catch and transmit the disease, even if they do no get sick from it. The eventual target state is one where all adults are safe from illness, and can recover at home as they do with normal flu. Lockdowns, quarantines, and travel restrictions will be lifted as the cost of COVID-19 will be that of existing illnesses, always present in the population at some level but no longer lethal or disruptive.
